World - World Cup
Prediction :
Under 2.5
Nigeria will welcome the inclusion of foreign-based players to their camp as the World Cup qualifiers return, with a home game against Rwanda. We have a prediction for the Group C match below.
Nigeria had a dismal showing at CHAN, failing to advance past their group. This is, therefore, a chance to restate their position in African football.
While they have the head-to-head advantage, the Super Eagles haven't been really dominant in this fixture, winning just three of their total nine meetings.
Nigeria actually lost 2-1 to Rwanda the last time they hosted this match. That was back in November 2024, but they avenged it with an away win of their own in March this year. Victor Osimhen’s brace secured the 2-0 win.
Rwanda will look to tap into the inspiration from their last visit to Nigeria. They have had a good start to these qualifiers, and a win here will open a four-point gap from their hosts.
The Rwandese trail the leaders, South Africa, by five points, and at best they can target a second-place finish to try and advance to the playoffs. They are currently ninth on that list, with the top four set to get the second bite at the cherry.
Rwanda will be disappointed at having collected just one point from the last two qualification matches, both at home. They come here winless in four straight outings, having lost three, the most recent a 2-0 reverse against Algeria.

These two sides are familiar foes, this being their 10th meeting, a fixture dominated by Nigeria. The one outstanding stat about this game is how it has, over time, been a low-scoring one. Only once in the previous nine meetings has this encounter had more than two goals.
Ahead of the match also, the two nations haven't been scoring a lot. Rwanda, who won on their last visit to Nigeria, scored only once in their last four outings. In the goals market, our prediction for Nigeria v Rwanda is for under 2.5.
